Story: ★★★★☆
The storyline was my favorite part of See You Later, Mermaid, and is what kept me so intrigued during the entire read. I absolutely loved the supernatural element, and the themes of longing and loneliness. It’s very much a hurt & comfort story, both for the characters and the reader.
Art: ★★☆☆☆
The art was satisfactory to me, but not the most aesthetically-pleasing. For instance, I was not so impressed with the first kissing scene, and found it to be rushed and messy (not in a steamy way, either).
Angst: ★★★☆☆
The complex emotions between the uke and seme, and the rift that the uke’s special ability caused between other people and him made the story very memorable for me.
Fluff: ★★☆☆☆
There was enough fluff during the happy scenes to feel satisfied, but overall, the story’s main focus was the trials that the couple had to go through to be together.
Spice: ★☆☆☆☆
There is a full H scene, but it’s rather tame and sweet. Nothing grand.
Recommend for: People who enjoy more pure BL short stories with mutual pining, little smut, and a supernatural flavoring.
